About the Band

"Pete Sanchez is a band, not a person, and they play atmospheric rock with arrestingly dark chords and a slightly sleazy edge."
-Rafer Guzman, Newsday

Formed as an experiment in 2005 and comprised of two sets of brothers, (Sean and Scott along with Brian and George) Pete Sanchez is a hard rock band with a distinctly modern edge. They put a heavy emphasis on strong songwriting and as drummer Brian Wolf explains "[They] strive to make music that people can both feel and think about."

Their debut EP "Walk On The Sun," which was released independently in 2006, created a strong buzz on the local Long Island, NY scene. The band's strong focus on songwriting and musicianship, as well as the raw and "sleazy" sound of "Walk On The Sun" attracted the attention of music critics and fans alike. Before long, the band went from jamming in small nondescript bars to suddenly gigging at such venues as The Crazy Donkey, The Continental, The Trash Bar, and opening for national acts Keith Caputo of Life of Agony and Nine Days. In that time Pete Sanchez was featured in an issue of Good Times Magazine with an interview entitled "Pete Sanchez; Living With The Hype." In that interview lead singer George Wolf commented on the sudden notoriety "It really all happened overnight we woke up one morning and we were in the newspaper and people were talking about our album." The band kept up a rigorous gigging schedule for several months while already beginning to look ahead to their next project, the full length record "Raccoon Maisy."

The recording of "Raccoon Maisy" was a period of immense growth for the band as they set out to follow up "Walk On The Sun" with a record that would demonstrate how much the band had evolved and more distinctly defined their sound. In an interview on Rick Eberle's Unlabeled radio show guitarist Scott Bruno recalled the two and a half year recording process of "Raccoon Maisy" as "a real roller coaster ride. We were at each other's throats half the time but the good thing was that we never stopped learning from the experience and we really managed to grow together as a band quite a bit." In 2010, the band finally saw this recording process completed and the long awaited album ready for release. Thrilled with the final product bassist Sean Bruno credits the band's unwavering focus and a helping hand from producer Tom Cavanagh for achieving the sound the band was looking for. "We essentially set out to make a great Rock record and through all the setbacks and growing pains none of us ever lost sight of that."

Pete Sanchez has recently signed with powerhouse management company Popcore Entertainment and their full length album "Raccoon Maisy" is currently available from I-Tunes, Amazon, and CD Baby.
